Anime Crusaders Ground, Hill, and Hybrid Placement
The tile is the unit. A Ground Secret on a flyer map is a decoration.
Anime Crusaders inherited the Ground / Hill split from the rest of the Roblox anime TD pile, then added Hybrid and support auras. If you ignore the split, you will swear the tier list is lying. It is not. You placed a Ground carry where a Hill was required.
Ground
Ground tiles sit on or beside the lane. Ground units hit what the card says they hit — often lane enemies, sometimes not flyers. Put the main lane DPS here. Do not put the farm unit on the first Ground tile if that tile will be sold when you panic-upgrade.
Hill
Hill pads are elevated. Hill units exist to see flyers and to hold long sight lines. If a world description or a leaked wave includes air, you need a Hill or a Hybrid that lists air. Goko, Cell, Freeran, and Golden Spirit-style units live here. See best DPS.
Hybrid
Hybrid units can sit on more than one class of tile. That flexibility is the reason they cost so much. Place a Hybrid where you are missing a class, not on the prettiest pad. Two Hybrids on two Hills with no Ground lane hold is still a leak.
Support range
Supports do not care about your favorite anime. They care about aura radius. Put Ai or Zero where both carries sit inside the circle. Put farm units on a safe tile that stays built for the whole Infinite. Details on best support.
Map habits that work
- Look at the tile colors before the first place.
- Cover the longest lane first, not the spawn.
- Leave a Hill open until you see whether the map uses air.
- Do not fill every tile in the first thirty seconds. Economy first on Infinite.
- If a unit cannot place, you are on the wrong class. That is not a bug.
When a unit “feels weak”
Check targeting, then trait, then evo, then the map. In that order. A Crusader Ground unit that cannot hit air will always feel weak on a flyer stage. Read traits after placement is legal.
Build boards with best teams and team slots. Practice on Story, then take the same jobs into Infinite and raids.
Placement is the skill that still matters after your box is full. Gacha does not aim for you.
Selling and replacing mid-match
Infinite players sell a tile to afford an upgrade and then forget the air answer lived there. If you must sell, sell a flex DPS, not slot 2. Write that rule on a sticky if you play half-asleep.
Some maps look like they have extra Hills and then spawn flyers from a second lane. Scout the whole path before the first place. The first ten seconds are cheaper than a restart.
Supports placed on spawn tiles buff nobody. Walk the aura after you place. If the carry is outside the circle, you placed a poster.
When a unit “cannot place,” rotate the camera. A Hill pad hides behind a prop on mobile more often than the client is bugged.
Camera and mobile pads
Mobile players miss Hill pads that sit behind a banner or a tree. Rotate before you declare the map broken. A unit that “cannot place” is often a class mismatch, not a client bug.
If four people ready up, call tiles in chat: farm, air, Ground, flex. Silence is how four Speedcarts land on one corner.
After you win, leave the winning board for one more ticket before you experiment. Experimentation belongs on a Story stage you can restart, not on the Infinite that pays rent. Pair this page with team slots.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why can I not place my Secret?
Wrong tile class. Ground units need Ground. Hill units need Hill. Hybrid is the exception, not the default.
How do I beat flying enemies?
Place a Hill or Hybrid whose card lists air. Adding another Ground DPS will not help.
Should farm units go on Hills?
Only if the farm unit is allowed there and the Hill is not needed for air coverage.
Can a Hybrid replace both Ground and Hill?
It can sit on either tile. It still only covers one job at a time. Place it where the map is starving.
