If a slot is empty, you have a plan for the next banner. If three slots are the same job, you have a leak.
Map variants
- Flyer world: slot 2 is mandatory. Slot 6 can be a second Hill.
- Long Infinite: slot 1 is mandatory. Do not sell it.
- Raid: replace slot 6 with the mechanic unit the ticket wants.
- Beginner: slots 1–3 only. See beginner units.
Substitution rules
A missing Secret does not freeze the grid. Put your best unit of that class in the cell. A built Legendary in the right job beats an unevolved Secret in the wrong job. Confirm class on the card, not on the anime name.
When you pull a Hybrid that can do slot 2 and slot 3, you may free a cell. Do not automatically fill it with another DPS. Read best support first.
After you fill the grid
Evolve slot 2 and 3 first. Reroll those traits first. Spend Gems on the empty job, not on a seventh flex. Check events before you spend raid items on a flex unit.
Revisit the grid after every numbered update. Names move. Jobs stay.

Worked example
You own Ai, Rose, Golden Freezo, and a random Epic farm. Slot 1 is the Epic farm. Slot 2 is Golden Freezo. Slot 3 is Rose. Slot 4 is Ai. Slots 5 and 6 stay empty on purpose. That board clears early Story. When a Mythic Ground lands, it replaces Rose, not Freezo, unless the Mythic is a Hill.
If a friend pastes six Secrets, map each name to a job before you feel poor. You will find they still only cover three jobs and three flexes.
Revisit after every evolve. Tags change class more often than people expect. The evolutions page is the reminder.
Empty slots are a feature
Beginners fill six slots because the UI has six slots. That is how overlapping Ground tiles happen. Leave two empty until a card has a job.
When a friend pastes a raid clear, map their six names onto this grid. You will usually find three jobs and three flexes. Copy the jobs.
Rebuild the grid after every evolve. Tags change class more often than people expect. The evolutions page is the reminder, not a YouTube short.

How many slots do I need for Story?
Three jobs: farm or buffer, air, Ground. The rest is comfort.
What if I have no farm unit?
Leave slot 1 marked empty and spend the next banner on one. Do not pretend a third DPS is a farm.
Can Hybrid fill two slots?
It can cover two jobs on some maps. Still count it as one placement.
What if I own two Hills and no farm?
One Hill is the air job. The second Hill is a flex. Your next summon target is a farm, not a third Hill.
